Both elements are important: Governments need to pursue policies that respond to people’s needs, and governments need to implement those policies effectively. In order to increase the diversity of our community and create a stronger sense of belonging for everyone, we are continuing to improve our recruiting approach for students and search process for faculty and staff, to adjust our curriculum and pedagogy (including new courses this year on LGBTQ issues and on gender and employment policy), and to make other changes recommended by a School task force in 2017.
